The wings that the model wore were built by me, it's took 2 weeks to build, a lot of blood, sweat and tears went into them and here's the process of how I did it.
Altogether the wings came to 24 ft, the top wings were 7ft each way and the bottom were 5ft each way.
All that held the wings up were the back panels and some ribbon that we tied around the models body.
Photo 1: planning. At this point I'd already built the back panels that would help support the wings on the model
Photo 2: the structure of the wings were Foam X which was hard to cut especially in the middle
Photo 3: wiring the wings to hold it up a little and to make them look like dragonfly wings
Photo 4: had to paint the wires black so they stood out more and give them more of a vainy look to them
Photo 5: using plastic to put over the wings. It's exactly the same material as what tesco bags are made from.
Photo 6: how they looked when finished before being put with the other wings
Photo 7: showing the ribbon that held the wings up that was tied to the back panels and around the models chest & waist
